VOW RENEWALS

A vow renewal ceremony is a super way to celebrate your marriage — and you get to say ‘I do’ all over again.

Renewing your wedding vows is all a about declaring your love and re-making a commitment to one another in front of those closest to you.

The ceremony tells the story of what you have achieved and experienced together through the years.

It can be a lovely way to celebrate the big moments in your relationship, whether that’s overcoming a difficult time or a landmark anniversary (10 years, 25 years, 50 years).

YOUR Questions Answered!

Here are just some of the questions I am regularly asked about vow renewal ceremonies – if you would like to understand more please get in touch.

Why renew your wedding vows?

Maybe you felt family pressure, felt you had to marry in a certain venue, married abroad or were on a tight budget originally, you may not have had the type of wedding you really wanted, but with a celebrant vow renewal ceremony, it can be a true celebration of your love.

You can have a wonderful intimate ceremony just for the two of you or a super party with all your family and friends. When you renew wedding vows you’re not restricted by legalities or structure, so the choice is yours!

Many couples choose to combine their vow renewal ceremony with a significant wedding anniversary. And, for couples who have endured difficult times, such as illness or a period of separation, a wedding vow renewal can be especially meaningful and signify a turning point or new start in their relationship, which they want to mark with a celebration.

Whether you have a special anniversary coming up, be it 15 or 20 years, or simply would like to reaffirm your love and commitment together in front of your family and friends, I will help you to celebrate your lives as a couple in a very personalised and bespoke way.

Can we re-write our vows?

You may wish to reaffirm your original vows to one another or write your own vows to reflect your ongoing commitment and love for each other, I will support and guide you every step of the way.

You can have your original wedding rings blessed or you can exchange or gift new rings, a surprise on the day.

What happens during a vow renewal ceremony?

The vow renewal ceremonies I conduct are all very different, some couples wish to recreate their wedding day and for others who maybe eloped or married abroad it is an opportunity to have the wedding day they didn’t experience first time around. They will wear formal wedding attire, a wedding dress, bridesmaids and flowers and walk down an aisle, which maybe they didn’t have the opportunity to do first time around.

As with any ceremony we can include a ritual as a wonderful keepsake of your day, maybe a blended sand ceremony, so as children can feel involved, a tree planting, light a Unity candle, use ribbons to tie your hands, maybe creating an infinity knot, the options are endless with a Celebrant ceremony and will all be based around your beliefs and wishes.

I will ensure that your Vow Renewal Service is as beautiful and unique as you are and as with all Celebrant ceremonies you can celebrate at a time and in a venue to suit you.

Can my children, friends and family be involved?

We can involve your children if you wish, they can read poems or simply escort you down the aisle, which can symbolise that your family has grown, as has your love for each other, this can be so inclusive and warm.

Close relatives and special friends can also recite readings, and you can have meaningful music playing, just as you would at a wedding ceremony.
