I love my role, connecting with couples and families, working alongside them to create warm personable ceremonies guaranteeing lasting memories for all, these include weddings, blessings, vow renewals and celebration of life services.
I especially love wedding ceremonies, I am brimming with positivity and creativity, with a ready smile and ‘sense of humour’ I laugh at the drop of a hat!! I am a real ‘people’ person, caring and kind, I will guide and support you through the whole process and together we will create a relaxed, informal and inclusive atmosphere.

Lauren went above and beyond, even traveling to our venue the night before to rehearse with us. This thoughtful gesture helped ensure everything went smoothly on the day, and it really did! We shared laughs during the rehearsal, which made the experience feel so warm and genuine—exactly what we were hoping for. By the end of the wedding, it truly felt like Lauren was part of the family, and I was genuinely sad to see her leave.
She listened to our love story with such care and turned it into a ceremony that was heartfelt, unique, and simply perfect. Jake and I felt so special throughout the entire process. Lauren is an incredible celebrant, and we are beyond thrilled that we chose her to be part of our day. Thank you, Lauren, for everything—you made our wedding unforgettable!

Thank you Lauren!! X

Her affable approach made the process of creating our dream ceremony an absolute breeze. Lauren took the time to understand our story and craft a ceremony that truly reflected who we are as a couple. Every word she spoke on the day felt authentic, meaningful, and perfectly us. So many of our guests were moved by how heartfelt the ceremony was—many remarking that they hadn’t realised wedding ceremonies could include such personalised vows, readings, and backstory, as they’d never experienced anything like it before.
What could have been a nerve-wracking moment became one of complete joy and connection, thanks to Lauren’s calming presence and the beautiful atmosphere she created. We truly can’t thank her enough for playing such an important role in our day. She didn’t just perform a ceremony—she gave us a moment we’ll treasure forever.
Needless to say, we highly—highly—recommend her. Book in for a meeting now! Thank you again, Lauren. You’re a true shining star in your field 🌟

Speaking to Lauren it rapidly became clear that we wanted the format of our day to involve her skills and also give our ceremony a more 'personal feel'.
Lauren really took time to understand our dynamic, learn about us as individuals and how we operate as a couple. Several face to face meetings were held and Lauren was always happy to fit in with our diaries and accommodate us in anyway possible. Communication was fantastic and Lauren offered guidance and support throughout the process of writing our own vows to having readings during our service. When the day arrived Lauren did a phenomenal job proving she was the right choice for us. The ceremony she delivered was heartfelt and heart warming and we will forever be grateful of the part she played in our day.
Lauren, thank you. You were an absolute pleasure to work with and we cannot recommend you highly enough. We will always cherish your efforts and the moments you helped create on our special day.

What Is A Celebrant?
This is a question I get asked all the time. As a Celebrant I am not bound by any religion, statute or doctrine, meaning I am able to construct and perform completely personalised ceremonies for clients. Whilst I may have a personal belief, these beliefs are just that: personal.
Most officiants, religious and registrars have rules to abide by, my Celebrant ceremonies can contain any wording at all, whether it be religious, spiritual or personal. It is often a combination of all three, but ultimately, it’s whatever the client wants.
Celebrant ceremonies are about those who the ceremony is for, telling the story of the client, not the ideologies of religion. They will often include some humour and celebrate the person or couples’ life and are usually personalised and unique.
As a Celebrant I am a highly professional and accomplished public speaker and can deliver ceremonies in a variety of venues and situations, from meadows and fields to chapels and village halls, whatever the occasion I lead ceremonies wherever the client chooses.
What Ceremonies?
Some celebrants specialise in only weddings or only funerals, I trained in both spheres…
As a Funeral celebrant I conduct:
- Celebration of life funeral services, including cremations and eco or green burials
- Memorial services
- Interment of ashes
It’s about working alongside my clients to compose a truly uplifting service which is totally unique to any other.
Weddings and Family occasions
- Weddings
When couples are looking for a less formal, relaxed inclusive atmosphere, or indeed plan to marry at a venue which does not hold a marriage licence, then a Celebrant can be a great option.
Although I can create and conduct personalised weddings, a Celebrant cannot legally marry a couple. They’d need to visit a registrar in order to arrange the more formal side of things.
You can also choose a Celebrant for:
- Vow renewals
- Naming ceremonies
- Divorce celebrations
- Gender reassignment
- Adoption
About Lauren Duncan
I became a Celebrant eight years ago as I realised that life is too short, and you should follow your heart, to find true fulfilment in life!
I live in a beautiful village called Wolston with my motorbike mad husband Stuart, we met on a ski holiday 29 years ago, it was love at first sight, who say’s holiday romances don’t’ last!
Living between Coventry and Rugby, I am ideally placed to conduct services in local areas such as Leamington Spa, Warwick and Stratford Upon Avon, as well as across the counties of Warwickshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and the West Midlands.
Why Choose an Independent Celebrant?
When you use an Independent Celebrant, the choice is all yours.
From initially choosing the Celebrant, to deciding what type of ceremony you want; you are in charge.
Your Independent Celebrant is a trained professional. They will take time to get to know you, so that not only will you have a friendly, supportive and smiling face waiting for you at your ceremony, but you will be totally relaxed knowing what they say, will be completely bespoke and tailored to you as a family or couple.
FREEDOM OF CHOICE
But what you might not know, is that you with an Independent Celebrant you also have the freedom to decide:
Where you get married
It does not have to be a licensed venue. You can choose somewhere that is special to you both, whether that’s a pretty garden, woodland, by a lake, on a beach, or in a special eatery with happy memories attached. All you need is the land, or venue owner’s, permission.
What time you get married
Your Celebrant is yours all day. That means you can be very flexible about your timings. Celebrants only ever commit to doing one marriage ceremony a day, so they won’t be rushing you or popping off somewhere else during your special day.
How long your ceremony will last
However long you want it to. Whilst most celebrant led wedding ceremonies last between 20 and 40 minutes, if you want additional elements to be included in your ceremony, then that’s fine. You have no time limit, just to reemphasise, your Celebrant is yours all day.
How your ceremony will be structured
However you want it to be structured. Whilst there is a basic structure, you can tweak it so that it is further personalised and recognises your own values, beliefs and personality. If you want to add in someone to sing, play an instrument, dance or do performance poetry, then you can.
To write your own vows
You don’t have to recite any special vows, or use ones written by your Celebrant for you. By writing your own, you can take your ceremony to the next level, plus if you keep them secret from your partner, that can often make your day even more special.
What you want to say, or be said about you
Working with your Celebrant you can decide what words/phrases you would like to be used in your wedding ceremony. Your Celebrant will spend time with you getting to know you and will write a ceremony that reflects you as a couple. You can tweak it until you are 100% happy with it.
Who you want to be involved
You can invite as many, or as few, people as you would like to help you celebrate your special day. And if you want others to do readings, sing or actively take part in other activities, then ask them, remember this is your opportunity to have a totally unique event.
Any other individual elements you may want to be included in your ceremony
Once again the choice is yours when it comes to themes or rituals. There are plenty to choose from, everything from handfasting to sand and from candles to jumping the broom.
Plus, if you need your Wedding Celebrant to coordinate their outfit to match the theme or colours of your wedding, then you only have to ask.
Your Day, No Limits
If you want someone to create a ceremony that’s all you, then engage the services of a Wedding Celebrant. They will be with you every step of the way, making what so often can be a slightly awkward and stuffy ceremony into something joyful, heartwarming and above all unique. After all, when it comes to the best day of your life, the only limit is your imagination!
