As there are many types of wedding celebrant, humanist, pagan and independent to name a few, who offer varying services, the price they charge can vary enormously across the country.
There are numerous factors to consider when wedding celebrants set their prices; these are a few that I have taken into account when setting my price for this year:
Fixed cost Weddings
I always set a fixed fee for my weddings, this year it is £650, as I believe this helps couples’ budget for their ceremony and there are no hidden ‘added extras’ down the line..
My fixed price includes everything …as below
- An initial complimentary no obligation ‘getting to know you’ meeting (face-to-face hopefully, or WhatsApp or Zoom)
- A follow up meeting, usually with coffee/tea and cake, lasting approx. 90 minutes to get to know you, so that I can hear all about the ceremony of your choice, your story, hopes and aspirations for the day
- The writing of your bespoke ceremony with unlimited email and Zoom correspondence, drafts and amendments along the way
- A copy of the LDCelebrant Guide to Writing your Wedding Vows with many handy hints and tips
Support for you as a couple with writing your vows if required, meeting for another coffee and cake is not a problem! - Liaison with your venue and all your wedding suppliers
- A rehearsal prior to your ceremony, a run through to make sure you are relaxed on the day
Conducting your ceremony, I only ever book one per day, so all yours as long as you need me! - Your personalised wedding vows printed in a beautiful bespoke book
- A copy of your final script, printed on high quality paper, a keepsake just for you!
Value for money
I believe in giving my couples value for money, while offering a Five-star service, I realise that many of my clients prefer a ‘Do it yourself’ approach, whilst they prefer a personalised Celebrant ceremony, I realise that I am only one of the costs couples have to find to make their day special.
Time
the time I spend on my ceremonies can vary enormously, I love to keep in touch with my couples so if this means meeting up two or three times, so be it. I also spend time writing and researching, which I love, especially if I am asked to choose a personal reading, or the music for a ceremony.
Accessibility
I am always available throughout the process, from the moment when you first book me to the day itself, you can contact me via mail, Whatsapp, Zoom or a good old fashioned phone call, it’s all included in my price.
Travel
I travel far and wide within Warwickshire and the neighbouring counties, such as Leicestershire, Worcestershire and Oxfordshire, I am very lucky to live in south Warwickshire between Rugby and Coventry, just down the road from Leamington Spa, Kenilworth and Warwick. All my travel costs are included in my cost, unless I go over around 30 miles, when I then charge 45p per mile.
What is the difference in price between a registrar and an independent celebrant?
This is one of the major factors I have considered when setting my price for this year. Realising that my couples usually opt to complete ‘the legals’ prior to their personalised ceremony with myself I have endeavoured to keep the total cost the same or nearly equivalent to the cost of a registrar on their day.
As an example, I charge £650 at present, the legal component, a two-by-two ceremony, just the couple and two witnesses, is usually around £140, a total cost of £790.
At the time of writing, Jan 2026, to book a registrar for a Saturday or Sunday at most licensed venues in Warwickshire and Oxfordshire is in excess of £800, although this can vary, depending on the type of location.
In summary, if you are searching for an experienced, warm, supportive celebrant who can offer a personalised ceremony as an alternative to an officiant such as a registrar or vicar, while keeping to a similar budget, do get in touch, call me on 07845 968204
