Why your wedding ceremony needs a Celebrant

Your love story is unique and deserves its own special treatment. That’s why you should select a highly personalised, warm, beautiful and special ceremony, that not only matches your style and personality, but which you and your guests will remember forever.

Apart from not being able to legally marry you in England and Wales, there’s not much else that a Wedding Celebrant cannot do to ensure you have the most magical day of your life.

Bring your love story to life

If you’ve not thought about the benefits of having your story brought to life by someone who is equally as invested in celebrating your relationship and ensuring the success of your day as you are, then here are a few more reasons why you should choose a Celebrant to officiate at your ceremony.

Your Ceremony, Your Way

When you use a Wedding Celebrant, the choice is all yours.

From initially choosing the Celebrant, to deciding what type of ceremony you want; you are in charge.

Your Wedding Celebrant is a trained professional. They will take time to get to know you, so that not only will you have a friendly, supportive and smiling face waiting for you at the end of the aisle, but you will be totally relaxed knowing what they say, will be completely bespoke and tailored to you as a couple.

Freedom of choice

But what you might not know, is that you with a Wedding Celebrant you also have the freedom to decide:

  • Where you get married – it does not have to be a licensed venue. You can choose somewhere that is special to you both, whether that’s a pretty garden, woodland, by a lake, on a beach, or in a special eatery with happy memories attached. All you need is the land, or venue owner’s, permission.
  • What time you get married – your Celebrant is yours all day. That means you can be very flexible about your timings. Celebrants only ever commit to doing one marriage ceremony a day, so they won’t be rushing you or popping off somewhere else during your special day.
  • How long your ceremony will last – however long you want it to. Whilst most celebrant led wedding ceremonies last between 20 and 40 minutes, if you want additional elements to be included in your ceremony, then that’s fine. You have no time limit, just to reemphasise, your Celebrant is yours all day.
  • How your ceremony will be structured – however you want it to be structured. Whilst there is a basic structure, you can tweak it so that it is further personalised and recognises your own values, beliefs and personality. If you want to add in someone to sing, play an instrument, dance or do performance poetry, then you can.
  • To write your own vows – you don’t have to recite any special vows, or use ones written by your Celebrant for you. By writing your own, you can take your ceremony to the next level, plus if you keep them secret from your partner, that can often make your day even more special.
  • What you want to say, or be said about you – working with your Celebrant you can decide what words/phrases you would like to be used in your wedding ceremony. Your Celebrant will spend time with you getting to know you and will write a ceremony that reflects you as a couple. You can tweak it until you are 100% happy with it.
  • Who you want to be involved – you can invite as many, or as few, people as you would like to help you celebrate your special day. And if you want others to do readings, sing or actively take part in other activities, then ask them, remember this is your opportunity to have a totally unique event.
  • Any other individual elements you may want to be included in your ceremony – once again the choice is yours when it comes to themes or rituals. There are plenty to choose from, everything from handfasting to sand and from candles to jumping the broom.

Plus, if you need your Wedding Celebrant to coordinate their outfit to match the theme or colours of your wedding, then you only have to ask.

Your Day, No Limits

If you want someone to create a ceremony that’s all you, then engage the services of a Wedding Celebrant. They will be with you every step of the way, making what so often can be a slightly awkward and stuffy ceremony into something joyful, heartwarming and above all unique.
